Two Texas men disappeared in 1985. Fifteen years later the remains of one of them - Rowdy Landry - are found in a wooded area eight miles east of Coldwell Spring, Louisiana in rural Choctaw Parish. When Sheriff Larsen shows little enthusiasm for the case, District Attorney O'Neal intervenes. But when he reaches an impasse, the Louisiana Attorney General forces District Attorney O'Neal to try one of the suspects to either obtain a conviction or compel the suspect to reveal who killed Rowdy.
